When I consider the infancy of my five younger siblings, I often cringe. Spending the first couple years of life in a rural orphanage? Hard to imagine. Morover, dealing with this knowledge for the remainder of life?
After pondering my existence and upbringing, I honestly feel like an utterly blemished American who doesn't understand the history of communism, the One Child Policy, or the fact that a parent would knowingly place their child in an orphanage in hopes that the child would actually have the chance to be fed. I can only presume and desire that this was the case of the parents of Jacob, Caleb, Isaiah, Jiana, and Shiyan.
