my mind is a still pool of water hidden within a foggy marsh of thought.
during childhood in Pennsylvania, we used to go to the marsh and play hide-and-go-seek barefoot style with our pants rolled up to our thighs... but they always got wet somehow anyway.
running, trying so desperately to be elusive, and suddenly slipping into an extra-soft patch of spring mudd. Serenity. I miss my brother and wish that we could return to a refreshing state of innocent behavior and frolicking recklessly through dense expanses of forest. we were Indians. he named me Running Deer because i was quick on my feet at that young age. we made teepees, small self-sufficient villages, we carved knives out of slate, we built dams, and we climbed everything that was out of mom's sight.
i spent the day away at Oak Grove learning about spring before the foliage turns a promising shade of soft green. Craig and i hiked and picnicked... but mostly just enjoyed the feeling of crunchy leaves on top of mudd while the river carried away the seeds of our green pepper. we saw three deer despite their nocturnal nature. Tranquility became attainable again.
for Monday: i have ten pages of paper due for history of social policy and welfare.
Para la clase de Espanol, tengo que esribir un papel que consiste de tres y media paginas en la idioma. ay caramba, verdad?
I have a 3.5 pg Spanish research paper due that day as well (en Espanol).
and then there are the two presentations that are due next week.
somehow i am not stressed. Rather, i feel overwhelmingly at peace.

i am sorry you miss jonathan. :( how is he doing?
it's good to have such fantastic childhood memories. member kick the can!?!?!?!? i loved when you guys visited...:)
being a kid is fun. more fun than growing up.
I hope your papers went well!
Jonathan is doing pretty well from the tidbits I gather. hopefully boot camp isn't as dreadful in real life as what they make it seem in the movies. I loved childhood... just as i dearly loved playing kick the can at the Sybesma house.
Hi Lisa! we can be blog friends now too! i hope you continue to be overwhelmed by peace -
One time I went to your house in Pennsylvania. We went swimming and then dried off by jumping on the trampoline. 'Twas a nice day.
