this lovely Sunday afternoon was spent with an old friend lying atop pine needles and talking happily of things. just things. Catching up, i suppose. I often feel as though i spend most of my days catching up. why is that? who/what/why am i catching up? how do i know that i am full...done...complete...caught up?
my first days of classes have been glorious! In my "Social Work Practice with Communities and Organizations" class, professor Abby Jansen grouped us into threes and asked us to define social justice. We spent about 20 minutes mulling over words, theories, and visions only to discover that our answers were thoroughly incomplete. hum. try it for yourself.
feeling missed is a crucial feeling in relationships. being needed. thanks everyone who is still here after my gallivanting around America. i have missed you all.
i am ready for this semester to begin. I want to pour myself into my studies-my friends- my faith-my family-the earth-people who i love. i want to be consumed with things that are important to me. I want to stop seeing God as someone who i just have a relationship with. I want to see Him to be the Almighty and Magnificent God who He is. isn't it time i stepped it up? time to gather my mind and live the passions i have been dreaming?
i went to Life Light this weekend. i moshed with jake and piper and jenny at the "As i lay Dying" show. Can you picture Jake moshing? how about me?
it was frightening and beautiful and invigorating and sensational and utterly odd to be pushed inappropriately by strangers.
